Thank you for considering Elsie Kaye Glassworks Studio for your child’s next birthday party. We are happy to offer something different and creative that your child and their friends will love!
Kids Birthday Parties (Ages 8+) : Jewelry Making/Wirework Workshop
We'll kickoff the festivities with a glass bead (flameworking) demonstration, where the kids get to see first hand how the beads are made by melting glass rods on a bench top torch. We'll also make a special glass bead for the birthday girl or boy. After the glass bead demo, the kids move to the "bead bar" where they’ll choose the gemstones, beads and crystals they want to work with.
Then we’ll instruct them on how to put it all together using wire wrapping and design techniques. Depending on party size and how quickly they work, the kids will have time to create between 2-3 projects: a stretch or memory wire wrap bracelet, a necklace or earrings, and a keychain/backpack charm. We try to keep themes up-to-date with the latest trends, and these are the most popular pieces right now for parties of this age group, We like to limit parties to a maximum of 10 children to insure individual instruction and attention. However, we can accommodate up to 15 children if necessary, at a fee of $30 per additional child. A 50% deposit is required to hold the date.
Help your teen celebrate their birthday with the hottest party in town!
Tailored for ages 12 and up, our teen torch parties will introduce the basics of glass beadmaking using a gas and oxygen-fueled torch and soft glass. Participants will learn how to use heat and gravity to shape molten glass and create miniature works of art. They will each make between 5-8 beads during the party, and no experience is necessary.
In order to ensure safe flameworking practices, teen torch parties are limited to a maximum of 8 children. We provide all materials and supplies required for each participant to make their own glass beads and jewelry, as well as trained staff members to help with instruction and supervision while working at the torch. For our glass beadmaking parties, we typically spend one hour making glass beads and one hour making jewelry. A 50% deposit is required to hold the date, and a minimum of 4 children is required to run this birthday workshop. A flameworking waiver must be signed by a parent/guardian of each child in order for them to participate.
* Note - The glass beads must gradually cool, or “anneal” in the kiln overnight. They will be ready for pickup 2-3 days after the event, or we can make
