Covid-19 Safety Requirements
Kids Camp (ages 8 +) – Summer 2020
At Elsie Kaye Glassworks we take the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously. We’ve been working hard to put protocols in place that allow us to offer our summer camps, and are closely following the guidelines put forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Highlights of this include:
*All employees and campers MUST wear face masks for the duration of camp. Social distancing and mask rules will be strictly enforced. Please remind your child of these rules before they come to camp. It is especially important for all students to adhere to these Covid-19 rules. If you don’t think your child will be able to work while wearing a mask, or follow our social distancing rules, please do not sign them up. For the safety of all campers, if a child is unable to follow these rules, we may have to send them home.
*Camp size has been reduced and is now limited to 5 campers; campers will be spread out along our large workbenches to provide ample personal space. A space for each camper will also be protected by Plexiglas shields, which have been custom made for our camps and classes.
*We will run our ventilation system during the entire camp session (6600 cfm capacity, built for our glass beadmaking classes) and have windows open and floor fans running to ensure excellent ventilation.
*Campers and employees will maintain proper hand hygiene; additionally they will wash hands when entering the program as well as before departing the program. (We have two sinks in the studio.) Additionally, hand sanitizer will be available at several places throughout the studio.
*We will regularly disinfect the tables, chairs, tools, and common surfaces used for the camp program, and a deeper cleaning will be done after our campers leave at the end of each day. Restrooms will be cleaned after each use.
*Parents/guardians of campers will be required to fill out a health screening questionnaire each day of camp, as required by Massachusetts, (asking about COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days, positive COVID-19 test in the past 14 days, and/or close or proximate contact with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days)
*Employees will also fill out their own health screening assessment before reporting to work.
*All tools and equipment will be thoroughly sanitized before each camp. Each child will be assigned their own tools to use throughout the week, to alleviate the need for sharing.
Campers must bring their own water bottle(and snack, if desired). We will not be providing drinks or snacks this year, due to Covid-19.
*If your child feels sick or has come in contact with someone suspected of COVID-19, please do not send them to camp. Our refund process is simple and we will likely have a wait list.
DROP OFF/PICK UP INSTRUCTIONS:
*Parents must remain in their cars for pick up and drop off; a staff member will assist with getting your child to and from your car
*There will be a COVID-19 waiver and health questionnaire that parents will need to fill out upon arrival, we will approach your car to have you sign. (We will email these documents prior to camp, so that you are able to read them over).
Thank you for your cooperation with these guidelines, we are looking forward to a great art camp!
