Covid-19 Safety Policies for Classes and Open Studio Torch Rental

At Elsie Kaye Glassworks we take the health and safety of our students, patrons and staff very seriously. We have worked hard to put protocols in place that allow us to resume our summer camps, classes and torch rental, and are closely following the guidelines put forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Highlights of this include:

*All employees, students and torch renters MUST wear a face mask upon entering the studio and during their time in class and during torch rental.  Social distancing and mask rules will be strictly enforced.

*Class and studio rental capacity has been reduced to ensure ample personal space.  Spaces for each student are also protected by Plexiglas shields, which have been custom made for our studio.

*We will run our ventilation system during the entire class/rental session  (built specifically for our glass beadmaking classes) and have windows open and floor fans running to ensure excellent ventilation.

*Students and employees will maintain proper hand hygiene; additionally they will wash hands when entering the studio as well as before departing the studio (We have two sinks in the studio.) Additionally, hand sanitizer will be available at several areas throughout the studio.

*We will regularly disinfect the tables, chairs, tools, and common surfaces and a deeper cleaning will be done at the end of each day. Restrooms will be disinfected after each use.

*All students and renters will be required to fill out a health screening questionnaire each day upon entering the studio, as required by Massachusetts (asking about COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days, positive COVID-19 test in the past 14 days, and/or close or proximate contact with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days)

*Employees will also fill out their own health screening assessment before reporting to work.

*All tools and equipment will be thoroughly sanitized before each session.  Students and renters will be assigned their own tools to use throughout their session, to alleviate the need for sharing.

*If you feel sick or have come in contact with someone suspected of COVID-19, please do not come to the studio. Our refund process is simple and we are also happy to accommodate make-up sessions.
