You don’t need to have a green thumb to have a beautiful garden! In this 5-hour workshop, students at the beginner and intermediate levels will learn to create an assortment of floral glass beads using a gas and oxygen-fueled torch and soft glass.
Initial focus will be learning basic techniques and bead shaping and then we'll dive in to the florals! Students will learn how to create several types of glass flowers, ranging from basic raised petals to more complex beads- including sunken petal encased flowers and stacked petals. Students will learn how to pull and rake complex twisted stringer and cane and use layering techniques and tools to create roses and intricate vines and leaves. We'll show you how to wire wrap your beads and provide materials for you to make several pendants once your beads come out of the kiln.
